전시 『결코 가볍지 않은 것에 관하여』는 우리가 일상 속에서 무심히 지나쳐온 것들에 다시 눈을 돌리게 합니다. 쉽게 설명되지 않고, 단번에 소비되지 않으며, 시간이 지나도 마음 한구석에 오래 머무는 것들. 이 전시는 바로 그런 것들에 대한 이야기입니다. 

 여기서 ‘가볍지 않다’는 것은 단지 물리적인 무게를 의미하지 않습니다. 그것은 한 겹, 두 겹 깊어지는 감정의 결이며, 쉽게 흘려보낼 수 없는 기억이고, 반복되는 일상 속에서도 문득 우리를 멈춰 서게 만드는 어떤 기운입니다. 작고 조용한 것들이지만, 그 안에는 응축된 시간과 존재의 흔적이 담겨 있습니다. 

 이번 전시에 참여한 세 작가는 서로 다른 방식으로 이 ‘무게’를 마주합니다. 형태와 재료를 통해 감각의 구조를 구축하는 작가, 사라지는 자연의 흐름 속에서 시간의 흔적을 포착하는 작가, 내면의 기억과 감정을 추상의 언어로 길어 올리는 작가. 이들은 각자의 시선을 통해 ‘결코 가볍지 않은 것들’을 바라보며, 관람자에게 또 하나의 감각의 문을 엽니다. 

 단단하게 구축된 형태, 흘러가는 자연의 감각, 그리고 내면에서 길어 올린 감정이라는 서로 다른 결을 따라 우리는 미처 말로 담아내지 못했던 것들을 마주하게 됩니다. 작품은 때로는 물질로, 때로는 풍경으로, 때로는 추상의 언어로 다가와 조용히 질문을 건넵니다. 

 당신에게 결코 가볍지 않은 것은 무엇인가. 

 『결코 가볍지 않은 것에 관하여』는 거대한 선언이 아니라 하나의 조용한 제안입니다. 잠시 멈추어 서서 우리가 잊고 있던 감각을 떠올리고, 사소해 보였던 것들을 다시 깊이 바라보게 하는 시간. 이 전시는 가볍지 않기에 더욱 아름답고, 작지만 오래 스며드는 순간들을 마주하는 자리입니다.

The exhibition 『Things That Are Not Light』 invites us to turn our attention back to what we often overlook in the flow of everyday life. These are things that resist easy explanation, that cannot be consumed in a single glance, and that linger quietly within us long after the moment has passed. 

This exhibition is, in essence, about those enduring presences. Here, “not light” does not refer simply to physical weight. Rather, it speaks to the layered textures of feeling that deepen over time, to memories that cannot be easily set aside, and to subtle moments that suddenly cause us to pause in the midst of familiar routines. 

Though small and quiet, such things carry within them condensed time and traces of existence. The three artists participating in this exhibition each approach this sense of “weight” in their own way. One builds structures of perception through form and material. Another traces the passage of time within the shifting rhythms of the natural world. 

The third draws inward, bringing memories and emotions to the surface through the language of abstraction. Through their distinct sensibilities, the artists reflect on things that are “not light,” opening new paths of perception for the viewer. Moving between solidly constructed forms, the flowing sensibility of nature, and emotions drawn from within, we encounter what has long resisted being fully spoken. 

The works approach us in different ways, as material presence, as landscape, and as abstraction, each quietly offering a question. 

 What, for you, is not light? 

 『Things That Are Not Light』 is not a grand declaration but a quiet invitation. It asks us to pause, to recall sensations we may have forgotten, and to look again with care at what once seemed ordinary. Precisely because they are not light, these moments reveal a particular beauty, small yet enduring, gently settling within us over time.
