 우리는 흔히 화이트 큐브의 조명 아래 완성된 작품 앞에 멈춰 서곤 합니다. 그러나 하나의 예술적 실체가 가시화되기까지, 작가들은 아주 오랜 시간 고요하고 사적인 영토에서 밀도 높은 침묵의 시간을 경유합니다. 이번 전시는 바로 그 보이지 않는 시간, 즉 작업실의 문을 열고 들어서는 순간부터 시작되는 서사를 따라가고자 합니다. 

 작가들의 하루는 쨍쨍한 일상의 소음에서 벗어나, 완벽한 침묵과 새벽의 리듬 속에서 비로소 숨을 쉽니다. 불을 켜고 잠시 멈춰 서서 어제 굳어버린 안료의 물성을 들여다보고, 창밖의 공기 흐름을 가만히 느끼는 그 모든 사소한 루틴은 붓을 들기 전 이미 시작된 또 하나의 거대한 작업입니다. 눈에 보이지 않던 미세한 부유물들이 빛을 만나 반짝이는 풍경이 되듯, 머릿속을 맴돌던 막연한 잔상들은 작가들의 집요한 손길을 거쳐 캔버스 위로 발화합니다. 

정수진 작가는 극도로 미세한 먼지와 우주적 스케일을 하나로 잇고, 정진아 작가는 모호한 시선의 오랜 훈련과 에너지로 스스로에게 던지는 질문들을 묵묵히 캔버스에 담아냅니다. 이 공간은 사적 영역의 내밀한 언어들이 비로소 세상 밖으로 새어 나와 관객과 마주하는 틈입니다. 

관객 여러분은 전시 프롤로그 인터뷰를 통해 먼저 작가들의 은밀한 호흡과 목소리를 먼저 마주하게 됩니다. 보이지 않는 소리에서 시작된 상상이 눈앞의 시각적 실체와 겹쳐지는 순간, 일상의 자극적인 시선을 잠시 거두고 이들이 바라보는 모호하고 아름다운 감각의 틈 사이로 깊이 스며 들어 보시기를 바랍니다.

We often pause before completed works under the immaculate illumination of the white cube. Yet long before an artistic entity takes its visible form, artists traverse a dense, silent passage within a deeply private territory. This exhibition seeks to trace that unseen duration—the narrative that quietly begins the moment one steps across the studio threshold. 

 Stepping away from the glaring noise of everyday life, the artists find their rhythm in absolute stillness and the quiet hours of dawn. Turning on the light to pause and contemplate the hardened pigment of yesterday, or gently sensing the air shifting outside the window—these subtle routines are already a monumental labor unfolding before the brush ever touches the canvas. Just as microscopic, unseen particles meet the light to form a shimmering landscape, vague afterimages lingering in the mind are materialized onto the canvas through persistent touch. 

Jung Su-jin bridges the microscopic dust with a vast, cosmic scale, while Jung Jin-a translates the questions she poses to herself into the canvas, sustained by the energy and prolonged practice of a blurred, ambiguous gaze. This space is where the intimate language from a private domain has slipped out into the world to encounter the viewer. 

Through the preliminary exhibition prologue interviews, visitors will first encounter the quiet breath and voices of the artists. The moment an imagination born from an invisible sound overlaps with the visual reality before your eyes, we invite you to temporarily set aside the sharp focus of daily life and deeply permeate into the ambiguous, beautiful gaps perceived by the artists.
