문보리 작가는 현재와 과거를 연결하는 원초적 관계성의 상징이자 세계를 연결하고 있는 복잡한 시간성을 실에 비유하고 이들의 관계를 직조작업을 통해 풀어간다. ‘실’은 동양에서 ‘연(緣)’을 상징하는 매개체이다. 전통과 현대, 과거와 현재 그리고 미래의 시간을 잇는 관계성을 실과 직조로 표현하고 은유한다. 작업의 주재료인 ‘삼실’과 ‘모시실’은 토양을 기반으로 얻어진 보편성과 고유성을 동시에 가지고 있는 물질이다. 한국의 전통소재이자 자연의 소재인 ‘삼실과 모시실’을 매개로 과거와 현재, 그리고 미래를 잇는 ‘시간의 관계와 연속성’이라는 비물질적 가치를 직조부조작업을 통해 담아낸다.

MOON Bo Ri, an artist, uses the metaphor of thread to explore the primal relationships connecting the present and the past, as well as the complex temporality linking the world. In Eastern traditions, thread symbolizes "yeon" (缘), which signifies connection and destiny. Through weaving, Moon addresses the relationships between tradition and modernity, the past and the present, and the future. The primary materials in her work, "ramie thread" and "hemp thread," are substances derived from soil that embody both universal and unique qualities. By using these traditional and natural Korean materials, Moon weaves the intangible values of "temporal relationships and continuity" into her textile relief works, connecting the past, present, and future.
